Indoor Air Quality & UV Light Installation in Broward & Palm Beach

UV lights, better filtration and humidity control to help your family breathe easier at home.

Between year-round humidity, dust and the way a closed-up home recirculates the same air, indoor air quality is a real concern in South Florida, especially for anyone with allergies or asthma. The air handler and ductwork are often where problems start, because the cold, damp evaporator coil is an ideal spot for mold and bacteria to grow.

Master Tech Air installs air quality upgrades that work with your existing system, including UV lights that treat the coil, higher-grade filtration and humidity control, and we’ll tell you which ones are actually worth it for your home.

Signs your indoor air could be better

  • A musty or stale smell when the AC runs
  • Allergy or asthma symptoms that seem worse indoors
  • Visible dust blowing from the vents or settling quickly after cleaning

  • Mold or mildew near vents or the air handler

What’s included

FAQ

Indoor Air Quality & UV Lights questions

Do UV lights in an air conditioner actually work?

UV-C lights installed at the evaporator coil are designed to limit the growth of mold and bacteria on the coil and drain pan surfaces they shine on. Results vary by home, and a UV light works best alongside good filtration, a clean system and proper humidity control, not as a replacement for them.

Will better air quality help with allergies?

It can help reduce some indoor triggers like dust, pollen and mold, but it isn’t a medical treatment. If you have serious allergies or asthma, talk with your doctor as well as your AC contractor.

Can you add these to my current AC system?

In most cases, yes. UV lights, filters and humidity control can usually be added to an existing system without replacing it. A technician can confirm what fits yours.
